Product care

Regular, gentle maintenance helps windows and doors retain their appearance and operate as intended. Frequency depends on product material, finish, exposure and location. Always follow the approved Teralis care and warranty information when it becomes more specific than this temporary reference-derived guide.

Sliding tracks and drainage

Vacuum loose dirt from tracks and keep sill drainage openings clear. Do not continue operating a panel that scrapes or binds, because damaged rollers or tracks can make the problem worse. If adjustment is needed, support the panel correctly and use the product-specific method rather than forcing hardware.

Aluminium frames and finishes

Wipe frames with warm water, a non-abrasive pH-neutral detergent and a soft cloth, sponge or natural-bristle brush. Rinse away residue and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid caustic, abrasive or solvent-based products unless the approved finish instructions expressly permit them. Never direct a powerful water jet at a window or door.

Glass

Remove construction debris promptly and keep welding, grinding, cement and concrete residue away from glass. Use a soft, clean cloth and a suitable glass cleaner. Coated, toughened and other specialist glass can require different methods, so identify the glass type before using scrapers, squeegees or spot-cleaning chemicals.

Hardware and screens

Clean handles, locks, hinges and screen components with methods suitable for their finish. Check that fasteners remain secure, moving parts travel freely and mesh is not pulling away from its frame. Do not paint over seals, drainage paths or operating hardware.

Set a maintenance interval

Inspect products more often in coastal, industrial, sheltered or high-pollution locations where deposits accumulate quickly. Record cleaning and any adjustment, then seek qualified advice for water entry, damaged seals, cracked glass, persistent binding or hardware failure rather than masking the symptom.
